VF Live: Kirollus #5

Club-oriented, mid-’80s boogie records.

In VF Live, DJs take you inside their homes, record stores, and studios for intimate selects and mixes.

Brighton-based DJ Kirollus has been working at his local specialist record store Uptight Records for the past eight years, amassing a mighty collection along the way. In 2020, he also launched a bi-weekly mix series called Forty Minutes of Funk, to help push boogie, funk, and soul, and the talented DJs within the scene.

Kirollus returns to VF Live with another freestyled mix featuring “plenty of reverbed drum machine claps over bubbly synthesizer basslines, and warm chord stabs. This set has a firm focus on mid-’80s, club-oriented boogie. Half of the selection showcase the superior instrumental and dub mixes, which allow you can truly appreciate the inimitable flair of 80’s production.”
