Massive Attack made a very very good new EP to announce their forthcoming new album. I think it's their best since Mezzanine. It might be even better then that, but we will have to wait for the full album. The EP is outstanding.
Now about the Vinyl Factory pressing. In one word? I am amazed! Seldom I have heard such richness and openness on a vinyl record. Ok, I am playing it on a Mitchell turntable with an Ortofon Kontrapunkt B and this sounds good anyway which you'll need for normal records. But this is not a normal record! It superb! The balance is perfect, it has deep bass but not too much, the voices and instruments a super clear and smooth at the same time. It feel like listening to liquid gold! My deep respect for the mastering and pressing skills (which is a dying profession) of the vinyl factory: the vinyl cutter at it's very best!!!
