The Vinyl Factory took the Venice Biennale by storm this week as the 56th International Art Exhibition vibrated to the sound of trailblazing jazz pianist Jason Moran, whose live shows across the city were the highlight of VF’s ambitious programme of events and collaborations.

From the series of performances cut direct to disc by The Vinyl Factory Lathe in the new David Adjaye-designed Arena at the heart of the Biennale and the Factory Records jukebox by Jeremy Deller to the jazz clubs re-created by Jason Moran in the Arsenale, music was the binding force to all The Vinyl Factory’s activities during the opening days of the event.

With Jason Moran also performing at The Vinyl Factory party at palatial Venetian mansion house Ca’Sagredo, a full programme cut direct to disc at the Arena and Mick Jones opening his extraordinary pop culture archive The Rock And Roll Public Library to the public at Venice, we’ve crammed all of The Vinyl Factory’s Biennale collaborations into just 45 seconds, to give you a sense of what went down.

A taste of what’s to come, look out for forthcoming films on The VF Lathe at the Biennale Arena, Jeremy Deller’s Factory Records project and Jason Moran on how New York’s iconic jazz clubs helped shape the music played there.

Music is taken from Jason Moran’s STAGED EP, forthcoming on The Vinyl Factory.
