Eco-vinyl.

Records aren’t exactly green. From aluminium lacquers to boxset packaging, the carbon footprint on vinyl manufacturing is pretty high. One eco-minded prog rock artist from L.A. is doing his bit for the planet though with the release of this super environmentally-friendly record.

Billed as uplifting Cali rock, Piuma’s first EP is recorded and produced with 100% renewable energy, manufactured using recycled and renewable materials wherever possible, and trees were planted to offset carbon from the production process. Even the outer poly-bag is re-usable.

The album’s on sale for $15, $1 of which will be donated to plant trees in the Angeles National Forest.

Limited to 500 copies, the album drops 12 November on Shining Light Records. Pre-order a copy here.
