Eliza Rose brings intergenerational Black British dance music to the Listening Room. In the latest listening session, London DJ, producer and Wax Lyrical alumnus Eliza Rose brought her ethos of 'Dun Up The Dance' – a term she coined to describe a night of dancing to music across the dance spectrum – to Devon Turnbull's handmade high-performance soundsystem.

Over one hour, Eliza shared her "interpretation of dance music" across generations of Black British music from the pioneering vocal power of Shirley Bassey to the classic '90s UKG of Templeton Peck.Inspired by her personal record collection and musical journey (from staff member of Flashback Records to chart-topping singer) and books including Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music, the session is a varied insight into the artists that lit up British dancefloors for decades.

Listen below to hear Eliza Rose's insights and uncover some real dance music gems.

You can also listen to Haseeb Iqbal's recent sessions on Blue Note Records, Pakistani cinema vinyl and Jah Shaka now.

The Vinyl Factory: Reverb runs until November 10 at 180 Studios. Book tickets online
