Watch Daniele Baldelli bring the cosmic funk in this 45 minute mix

A rare recording of the Italian legend in action.

Last year, The Vinyl Factory invited legendary cosmic disco DJ Danielle Baldelli to headline an intimate party on the volcanic island of Stromboli, as part of the explosive Volcano Extravaganza festival.

As the festival takes over this island again this weekend, we’re pleased to share part of his electrify five hour set of wrong-speed chug and cosmic funk. Besides his 2012 Boiler Room, there’s very little footage of the master mix at work.

Inspired by his time on the starry island, Baldelli has just released a new three-track EP featuring a bold re-imagining of Manuel Göttsching’s legendary ’70s krautrock group Ashra. Hear it here and then watch our mini-doc on the cosmic legend.
