DeYarmond Edison recorded five LPs before disbanding in 2006.

Jagjaguwar is releasing a comprehensive boxset of the work of DeYarmond Edison, a band that counted Justin Vernon, Brad Cook, Phil Cook and Joe Westerlund among its members.

Founded by the four as Wisconsin high schoolers in 1998 under a variety of aliases before settling on DeYarmond Edison, the band recorded five LPs before breaking up in 2006. DeYarmond Edison’s members found success with Bon Iver, Megafaun and Field Report.

The deeply detailed boxset, titled Epoch, contains five LPs, four CDs, and a 60,000-word biography from journalist and executive producer Grayson Haver Currin.

Most of the music included on the LPs was previously available only through highly limited physical releases, if available at all. The CD portion of the boxset captures live performances from the band during their residency at North Carolina’s Bickett Gallery and at the Mabel Tainter Theater.

Epoch, was designed by Miles Johnson, Nate Utesch and Alexa Terfloth, and each LP has a unique symbol. Currin’s 114-page, 11-chapter book and an essay for each album accompany the music.
