Charles Bradley’s final album Black Velvet announced

Featuring music recorded from across the late soul singer’s career.

Charles Bradley’s final album Black Velvet will be released via Daptone imprint Dunham Records this November, to mark what would have been the much-loved soul singer’s 70th birthday.

Billed as his fourth and final studio album, Black Velvet features tracks that were recorded chronologically throughout his entire career, but were never included on any albums.

Exploring the “less-travelled corners of Charles’ soulful universe,” the album is heralded with the release of new single ‘I Feel A Change’, which you can listen to below.

As longtime producer and co-writer Tommy “TNT” Brenneck says of the track: “The lyrics are 100% Charles. Personal yet abstract. Directly from the heart. He truly loved the expression ‘going through changes’ and this was a few years before we would record our rendition of Sabbath’s ‘Changes’ with the Budos. Sadly Charles never got to hear the finished version of this beautiful song.”

Charles Bradley passed away in September last year at the age of 68 following a battle with cancer. See the artwork below and click here to find out more ahead of the album’s release on 9th November.
