Curated by Gilles Peterson and Stuart Baker.

Soul Jazz is releasing a new compilation, called Cuba: Music and Revolution: Culture Clash in Havana: Experiments in Latin Music 1975-85 Vol. 1, this January.

Compiled by Gilles Peterson and Stuart Baker, the collection explores the new styles that emerged in Cuba during the seventies, including jazz, funk, tropicalia, disco, and salsa.

It features tracks from groups including Grupo Irakere, Orquesta Los Van Van, Grupo De Experimentación Sonora Del ICAIC, and more.

Cuba: Music and Revolution is being released to compliment Peterson and Baker’s Cuba: Music and Revolution: Original Cover Art of Cuban Music – one of our favourite music books of 2020.
