Deluxe vinyl edition comes with four interchangeable colour schemes.

Father John Misty will release his third album, Pure Comedy, via Sub Pop (and Bella Union in Europe) on 7th April.

His first full-length since 2015’s I Love You, Honeybear, a 25-minute documentary charting the making of Pure Comedy has also been released which you can watch below.

Like I Love You, Honeybear, Pure Comedy goes to town on the vinyl packaging, although hopefully this time without the warping caused by the former’s ambitious pop-up artwork.

Instead, the deluxe double vinyl edition of Pure Comedy comes housed in a die-cut customizable jacket with four “background” dust sleeves, that allow you to choose from four different background sky colours for Ed Steed’s illustration. Contained in an outer plastic slipcase, the set also includes a poster & holographic tarot card.

The standard vinyl edition will also be pressed to double vinyl, with one of the four different colour schemes assigned at random. Orders of both editions come with a bonus 7” featuring the single ‘Real Love Baby’ b/w ‘Rejected Generic Pop Song, March ‘15 #3’ while stocks last.

Released on 7th April, you can find out more and pre-order your copy here.
