Inspired by the phenomenon choreomania, where crowds would dance wildly to the point of collapse.

Florence and the Machine are releasing a new album, titled Dance Fever, via Polydor this May.

Florence Welch originally started recording the album in NYC during March 2020 with Jack Antonoff, later returning to London when the Coronavirus pandemic hit.

Dance Fever draws inspiration from the phenomenon choreomania, where crowds would dance wildly to the point of collapse.

It also explores the art of the pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, gothic fiction, and folk horror films.

Dance Fever follows her last album, High As Hope, as well as the release of her ‘Never Let Me Go’ 12″, on The Vinyl Factory / Island Records.

Pre-order Dance Fever here in advance of its 13th May release, and check out the artwork below.
