The one-of-a-kind recording is being auctioned for homelessness charity Shelter.

Last month, Paul Weller entered the Soho Radio studio to cut a stripped backed version of ‘Glide’ direct-to-disc on the radio station’s in-house vintage cutting lathe.

One of two tracks performed by the Modfather from his new album True Meanings, the one-of-a-kind acetate disc featuring ‘Glide’ is now being auctioned online in support of housing and homelessness charity Shelter. Open for ten days from midday on 20th August, the auction will allow fans to purchase the record, with all proceeds going to the charity.

‘Glide’ was accompanied by a rendition of ‘Gravity’ which was also cut direct-to-disc, both of which were then played for the very first time live on air.

In recent months, Soho Radio has invited the likes of Skinny Pelembe, Idles, Luke Abbott and Django Django to cut unique sessions on the lathe.

Paul Weller released his 11th studio album Sonic Kicks on The Vinyl Factory. Find out more here.
