Sisters of Sound: Mahalia launches initiative for young women of colour in music
With workshops focusing on DJing, music production, content editing and live event management.
Mahalia has launched a new initiative, called Sisters in Sound, to support young women of colour in music.
Led by youth-led charity Small Green Shoots, as part of the Dr. Martens’ Tough As You initiative, Mahalia aims for the programme to help address the gender imbalances which continue to haunt the music industry.
The series will include four workshops focusing on: DJing, music production, content editing, and live event management.
The programme with culminate with a live showcase on International Women’s day on the 8th March 2022, at London’s Tileyard Gallery.
