Deep Listening: Pacing (Devon’s Room) by Isaiah Collier & Tim Regis
Improvised jazz from Devon Turnbull's Listening Room.
Deep Listening is a series where The Vinyl Factory presents landmark albums and songs—spanning both contemporary and classic works—inside the Devon Turnbull Listening Room at The Vinyl Factory: Reverb exhibition in 180 Studios.
Designed by New York artist Devon Turnbull and programmed by The Vinyl Factory, the room invites visitors to experience music through a handmade, high-fidelity sound system. Its plush, minimalist setting has become one of the highlights of Reverb, hosting intimate listening sessions and special events with artists such as The Blessed Madonna, Stephen O’Malley, and many more.
Today, we're focusing on a cut from the latest VF release – Isaiah Collier and Tim Regis' Live In The Listening Room. Recorded on January 30, 2025, the record captures a 26-minute improvised performance that unfolds across three tracks – including our featured track "Pacing (Devon's Room)".
"This recording is an interesting dichotomy between familiarity and unknowns,” explains Collier, “A new collaboration invites a new experience, and openly that’s what we did. Just a conversation between two kindred spirits in the multiverse of sound where the infinite and inspiration dance seamlessly.”
