Because every record collection has a story.

Home Grown is our series profiling you lot and your excellent record collections. Taking our cue from the brilliant submissions to the #VFRecordCollections thread on Instagram, we want to share a little of your hard-earned love for vinyl with the world.

Each week, we’ll be profiling a different collector from around the world and finding out what makes them tick. Want in? Send us a pic and a few words about your collection to social@thevinylfactory.com.

Name: Jeppe Gjerløv Nørgaard

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

Size of collection (approx.): 360

How long have you been collecting for?

I have been collecting since 2010.

What part of your set-up are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my record player. It is a Pro-Ject 1xpression Carbon Classic with an Ortofon 2m Bronze cartridge. I got it from my parents when I got my masters degree in communication. It means a lot to me.

What record(s) are you most proud of?

I am very proud of my collection of psych vinyl records. I mainly buy vinyl records form music labels like Beyond Beyond Is Beyond, Skylantern Records, Fuzz Club Records, Cardinal Fuzz and Rocket Recordings.

But to choose one record I am proud of, I would choose my Gorillaz Demon Days that I bought cheap in a secondhand vinyl store in Copenhagen, although it is not particularly psych-like.

What does your record collection mean to you?

My vinyl collection means I can find rest and find the vinyl record that reflects my feelings. It is like an index of emotions. And I like that it’s organic, I buy and sell all the time, so I do not have many vinyl records from when I started collecting vinyl records in 2010.
