The Barcelona-based Argentinian warms up for her Beat Hotel set at We Out Here with a chillout.

"The mix was recorded in Ibiza during the Eclipse days, so the mood is inspired by this cosmic alignment, the sun, the moon and the sea."

Ahead of her Beat Hotel set at We Out Here, music curator, DJ and founder of Barcelona's Poly-Rythmo, Sonido Tupinamba shares a blissed-out vinyl "mid-tempo balearic mix with sounds from different corners of the planet, searching for a calm state of mind and a soothing effect".

Tupinamba's first experiences with vinyl came in her youth through her grandfather. "These mysterious black and round objects caught my eye when I was a kid. I remember visiting my grandfather, discovering his record collection and feeling so much curiosity for all the covers and also for his portable record player," she explains. "I started immediately to play of of his records on every visit and then began buying records for myself. The attraction was immediate."

From those early days to now, vinyl is a core part of TupinambaI's creative practice and work and she speaks about it with a deep reverence. "The fact that you can hold a record, manipulate it, the visual aspect of the album cover, reading the liner notes to learn more about the music and musicians make it special," she says.

"I love watching at the grooves and the carves of the records, the shapes of each one is different and you can actually tell about the intensity of the music just by looking at it, also the pauses and the structure of a song. Like any analog object it gives you a warmer feeling, its in your hands, you can feel it and also the sound is more deep and profound".

Diving into her collection for her VF Mix, Tupinamba shares cuts from Azymuth, Paraiso and more, giving a little taste of her Beat Hotel set at We Out Here which is, she describes, "a journey of positive dance music".
