Watch: Norsicaa's vinyl journey through South East Asia
The latest Listening Room session from Norsicaa is out now.
"This is a neurodivergent fever dream of a captive audience for my special subject, so thank you for coming."
In the latest Listening Room session, Norsicaa shares a history of Southeast Asian music, running from the end of Japanese occupation in 1945 through to the region's disco boom in the late 1970s.

Running Soundway Records for eight years, and across 110 releases, Norsicaa has been responsible for the Sound of Siam and AYO KE DISCO compilations. At the moment, she is setting up her own label.
In the session, she covers a wide overview of South East Asia's musical history, touching on Singapore's wartime "singing cafes," Shanghai's shidaiqu scene and the Filipino musicians who carried jazz across Asia via Pacific liner routes and much more.

Bringing music together with vital historical context, Norsicaa's session is absolutely packed with gems.
